Educational Disclaimer

Last updated: 11 June 2026

The Global Driver provides educational content to help travellers prepare for driving in unfamiliar countries. Please read this disclaimer carefully before relying on any of our material.

1. Not a substitute for a driving licence

Our courses do not qualify you to drive and are not a substitute for a valid driving licence issued by a competent authority. You are responsible for holding the correct national, international, or local permit required in the country in which you intend to drive.

2. Not a substitute for the official road code

Our material summarises and contextualises country-specific driving rules but does not replace the official road code, statutory regulations, or signage of any jurisdiction. Always consult the official rules of the road for the country you are visiting.

3. Not a substitute for in-person instruction

Online lessons cannot replicate the value of practical, in-person driving instruction. If you have limited experience with the conditions covered (e.g. left-hand traffic, snow, mountain roads), we recommend taking an in-person lesson with a qualified instructor before driving unaided.

4. Accuracy and currency of information

Road rules, insurance requirements, and licence reciprocity agreements change. We make reasonable efforts to keep content up to date but make no warranty that the information is current, complete, or error-free at any given moment. Verify time-sensitive details (e.g. driving permissions, low-emission zones, tolling) with official government sources before travelling.

5. Personal responsibility and safety

You are solely responsible for your decisions and actions behind the wheel. Drive within your ability, obey local laws, do not drive while impaired, and adapt to the conditions you find on the road. We accept no responsibility for accidents, injuries, fines, vehicle damage, or any other loss arising from your use of the information in our courses.

6. Insurance

Always ensure you are properly insured to drive in the country you are visiting. Our courses do not provide, arrange, or recommend any specific insurance product.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Global Driver and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from reliance on the courses or website. This does not affect any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.
